School & Community Membership Agreement

Eating as Learning resources and FED membership platform

By joining the FED membership platform on behalf of a school, education provider or community setting, the organisation agrees to the following terms.

1. Membership and platform access

Membership gives the organisation access to the resources, training and support made available through the FED membership platform during its active membership period.

Depending on the membership package, this may include:

  • Eating as Learning (EaL) curriculum resources and guidance
  • training and professional development materials
  • practical resources, tools and downloadable materials
  • implementation guidance and evaluation tools
  • community discussions and shared learning
  • coaching, mentoring or other specialist support where included
  • new and updated resources added during the membership period.

Platform access is for authorised staff within the member organisation only. Login details must be kept secure and must not be shared outside the organisation.

2. Using FED and Eating as Learning resources

All Eating as Learning materials and other FED resources remain the intellectual property of The FED Foundation unless otherwise stated.

Membership gives the organisation a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the resources internally with its own staff, children, young people and families.

The organisation may download, print and reproduce resources where this is reasonably required for its own delivery.

Without written permission from The FED Foundation, resources must not be:

  • shared with another school, setting or organisation
  • published or uploaded to another website, platform or shared resource library
  • sold, sublicensed or commercially distributed
  • substantially altered in a way that misrepresents the original resource
  • used to create or deliver a competing training programme or commercial service
  • presented as the member organisation's own intellectual property.

FED branding and copyright information should remain on materials where provided.

Membership applies to the organisation or site registered on the platform. Multi-academy trusts, organisations operating across multiple sites or other groups should contact The FED Foundation where they wish to extend access across additional settings.

3. Using resources responsibly

Member organisations remain responsible for deciding how resources are used within their own setting.

Resources should be used in accordance with relevant safeguarding procedures, professional responsibilities and the guidance provided with individual materials.

Eating as Learning and other FED resources provide developmental, educational and clinical support and guidance. They do not replace individual assessment or advice where a child requires specialist support.

4. Information and data

The FED Foundation may invite member organisations to provide information to help evaluate the reach, implementation and impact of its programmes and resources.

Where possible, information shared for evaluation should be anonymous or aggregated, so that individual children cannot be identified.

If personal data needs to be shared for a specific project or evaluation activity, the Foundation and the organisation will first establish the purpose of the sharing, the information required, their respective data protection responsibilities and an appropriate lawful basis.

Member organisations must not post identifiable information about individual children, young people or families within community discussions or other shared areas of the platform.

Each organisation remains responsible for meeting its own obligations under UK data protection law.

5. Community participation

Members using community areas should communicate professionally and respectfully.

Information shared by other members within closed community areas should not be copied, published or circulated outside the platform without appropriate permission.

Members must not use the community to promote or sell unrelated commercial products or services unless this has been expressly permitted by The FED Foundation.

6. Membership, renewal and access

Membership runs for the period stated when the organisation joins or renews.

When membership ends, access to the platform and members-only resources will cease.

Resources already lawfully downloaded may continue to be used internally by the organisation, provided they continue to be used in accordance with the intellectual property terms above.

Recognition or certification that depends upon active membership will end if the membership is not renewed.

The FED Foundation may suspend or withdraw access where there is a serious safeguarding, security, payment or intellectual property concern.

7. Changes to resources and membership

The FED Foundation may update its resources, platform and membership offer as the evidence base and the organisation's work develop.

Significant changes to these membership terms will be communicated to members.

8. Agreement

By selecting “I agree” and creating an organisational membership, the person registering confirms that:

  • they are authorised to join on behalf of their organisation
  • the organisation accepts these Membership Terms
  • staff using the membership will follow these terms.

Working With Partner Organisations

The Foundation regularly works alongside other charities and community organisations to ensure families can access relevant support and opportunities to get involved.

Examples include:

Positive About Down Syndrome (PADS)

The Foundation worked with PADS to develop a parent webinar exploring feeding development and eating challenges experienced by some children with Down syndrome.

Autism West Midlands

Through workshops and learning events, families have been able to explore topics relating to feeding differences, participation and neurodevelopment.

Worcestershire Parent Carer Forum

Partnership work with Worcestershire Parent Carer Forum has provided opportunities to hear family perspectives, support local engagement activities and strengthen conversations around feeding development, SEND and inclusion.
