Specialists We Work With

The professionals who help children and young people with feeding and eating challenges, and how each one can support your child.

Feeding Needs a Team Approach

Children’s feeding difficulties rarely fit neatly into a single professional discipline. A child who finds eating hard may need support with chewing and swallowing, sensory sensitivities, seating and posture, nutrition and growth, or anxiety around food, often all at once.

Our Eating as Learning approach was developed by a transdisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers, and our Clinical Advisory Board brings together speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, a children’s dietitian and a clinical psychologist.

Find out what each specialist does, how they help with feeding, and how to find one near you.

Working With Partner Organisations

The Foundation regularly works alongside other charities and community organisations to ensure families can access relevant support and opportunities to get involved.

Examples include:

Positive About Down Syndrome (PADS)

The Foundation worked with PADS to develop a parent webinar exploring feeding development and eating challenges experienced by some children with Down syndrome.

Autism West Midlands

Through workshops and learning events, families have been able to explore topics relating to feeding differences, participation and neurodevelopment.

Worcestershire Parent Carer Forum

Partnership work with Worcestershire Parent Carer Forum has provided opportunities to hear family perspectives, support local engagement activities and strengthen conversations around feeding development, SEND and inclusion.
